What we do
What we do
BSRO is active in four main areas: education, networks, advocacy and research. The culmination of these activities occurs at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
Annual Scientific Meeting
The BSRO Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is Bangladesh’s premier cancer meeting, held over three days each year in December. The ASM is a multidisciplinary meeting, inviting participation from doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and scientists working in cancer care nationally and internationally. A different state hosts the ASM each year, with a specific theme and focus on a cancer type. See COSA history for more information on past ASMs.
Education
BSRO supports the professional and educational needs of its members by designing, developing and delivering professional development activities. Examples of these activities include the ASM, Clinical Professional Days, the Cancer Care Coordination Conference and the development of Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Networks
BSRO works to enhance cancer care in Bangladesh through the development of professional networks. BSRO members with a common interest in a discipline, disease type or area of need form Groups to discuss issues and develop solutions to common problems in cancer care.
Advocacy
BSRO is active in advocating for improvements in cancer care policy in Bangladesh. BSRO regularly makes submissions to government and other organisations on matters of significance to BSRO members. BSRO also releases reports and position statements developed by BSRO members.
Research
BSRO facilitates research across the spectrum of cancer care, BSRO Groups. BSRO also publishes submissions and reports related to cancer research issues in Bangladesh.
